Ooo baby!!

I was walking out of the house earlier today to walk the dogs in the pouring rain. This is due to Charlie's incredible energy flow and how miserable everyone becomes when his physical stimulation need is not met. The more nervous energy Charlie has that requires release, the funnier he thinks he is. Don't get me wrong, he's a scream on a daily basis and I thoroughly enjoy his antics but he must be set free daily for a nice long tiring romp to not get under our skin like a blood sucking tick. Anyway, I glanced at the dwelling as I went by to say good bye to the wee ones and just generally be a good captor when my brain made me aware that something was different. Since my brain is a wonderous thing that is rarely wrong about these things, I took a closer look. That's when I noticed the little bird that isn't usually in there. Now this was confusing as I haven't added anyone and I know the people I live with wouldn't do this as it's just not good to go about messing with my things. Especially my live things. Upon closer inspection I saw that this bird is very very young. Fledgling young. Didn't the Bob's have a baby, not tell anyone and keep it hidden all this time?! Yes, they did, the sneaky little bastards!! I totally would have thrown them a tiny little baby shower and gotten them tiny little things to help them for the arrival if I had known too! After my pleasant surprise had sunk in I remembered that I had psychotic dogs waiting to run and bailed, but not before noticing that the nasty Bob was ruthlessly bothering both baby and parents. I promised mom and dad I would figure this mess out when I got home even if it meant window time for Mr. Evil.

Once home I observed them a little longer and this is what I noticed. I totally took the wrong finch out last night!! I am so glad I moved them around again later on. Mom Bob must have been freaking out when dad was hauled away by that jackass who calls herself a decent captor. Dad Bob must have been sick with worry over the thought of evil Bob hurting his little one while he couldn't even defend him or his woman. This was a legit fear as I watched the nasty guy go over to the little one at one point, pick him up by his wing and shake him about like a rabid dog death shakes his prey while the parents tried to stop him. This happened once more with the tiny guy snatched up by his chest and flung about and I knew I had to think fast or he was going to be screwed. The plan snapped into action. Since the Bob's are extremely hard to tell apart while weilding a net, I had M help me with the whole mess. While he kept his eye on the right finch he told me where it was and I swung the net. It sounds a lot easier than it is. It amounted in three lose finches, dogs trying to catch them and me dashing about all pell mell with net in hand. The real question is why I don't simply put the dogs away, now isn't it? I put the nasty Bob in with the new female (Bob) and I took Bob the piebald and put him back in the dwelling like before. The female didn't like him anyway and lets face it, Mr. Nasty Pants just wants himself a bitch. Problem solved! TEAM JOY!! Nasty and new female are enjoying themselves very much too! YAY!!

Here are some pictures of the newest member. I decided to name him/her Bob. These first photos could be a lot better but they have the cutness factor down...

And of course mother and father are always around to keep baby safe...

And then there's the fact that Bob can't stay away and is very interested (in a very non violent kind of way) in the new one. He sort of hangs out and checks out the scene. It's almost like he's trying to figure out where this new bird came from. He reports back to Malcolm. It's kind of funny...
