Time keeps on slipping...

Of course I made the swap at 11:30 p.m.. Why would I do it at a reasonable hour? One minute I am getting ready for bed and the next I am running around the house in hot pursuit of a loose finch. It started innocently enough. I feel bad for the little girl all by herself and she needs a reason to work those wings. I chose one of the zebra finces and started netting. I caught the one of coice and put him in with her. Then the indecision and mental carnage took place. Was it the right one? Have I broken apart a happy couple? Am I a homewrecker? Should I just put him back and go for the piebald as originally planned? Is the finch in the smaller cage glancing wistfully at his mate in the larger dwelling or just shooting boastful glances at the other males? Oh the torture. It all started afresh with me catching the male again and putting him back and going for the piebald. The entire process took a while and amounted in two free birds, one hysterical overwraught female and two dogs thinking about finch for a snack. It was awesome. Out came the zebra and in went the piebald. This match was much better for my nerves and it seems to be going okay for them as well. At least he's not challenging the female like the first one was. Once her muscles are ready I am going to gut the inside of the cage and redecorate. I'm excited.

Yesterday I went to the tax man and it went swimmingly. Before this visit I thought I would run the dogs at *ahem* as it's kind of out of the way half way there. I also remembered my camera! Here are some of the pictures that were taken. Notice Charlie posing for the camera while sitting still. I see this as progress. I also started training classes tonight and that was less progress and more of a vent so I might either tell later or skip it all together...
