The hair of the dog...

Today is Saturday. I groom on Saturdays. Sometimes I do a dog so well that I surprise even myself. Today was Dugan's day for his not super short it's getting warmer but might be cold spring cut. I only have old pictures of him grown out but they do the trick...



He is allowed to become like this because this look keeps him protected from the cold weather. Function not fashion! Dugan likes to be outdoors so this works better for him. However!! Now that it's getting warmer, the not so little guy needs a break from the weatherproof coat he wears 24/7. Here he is in all his new hair cut splendor!!




As you can see, I am worth every minute you wait for your dog to come out of the back room... :)

I am considering cutting Charlie's hair differently. I like the cut he has now but it's almost spring and that means a nice new look! Besides, he's a poodle! What's the point of having a poodle and being a groomer if you never change the poodles look? That's right, there isn't one. Oh and I also want to point out that all poodle stuff is stupid!! Poodle skirts are excluded as they are in a class of their own. Now that I finally have a pure bred I would love to get some of the stuff that has my breed on it. You know, coffee cups, note pads, calendars... well go look at the poodle stuff. RANK. It's all pictures of poodles with the cuts you see in the show ring. This simply isn't real life shit. I wouldn't want my poodle in that look even in the show ring! *sigh* I'm going to keep looking. Until then, I like this haircut. It's basically one length all over from nose to toes. His face would be a little shorter but who's keeping track?? It's pretty cute... and functional!! Oh you know it. I also don't think it would hurt him to look a little more manly and dog like for a while.


I have also been playing with the idea of cutting my hair. Why should the dogs have all the fun? I would want something short and jagged. I like those rad little cuts I see moving around town. Since my hairdresser (who is awesome and I wouldn't go to another unless I was miles and miles away without the money or motivation to fly to him to have it done) has been asking why I don't cut my hair, I would love to give him the chance. I would also like to see it short for once. I mean, it'll grow back if I hate it right?? Don't get me wrong, I love my hair but it's just hair.
